Apologies for my despondency in the previous message but I was feeling all maudlin! Anyway, my thanks to Bruno for taking the time to give me a nudge and a boost.
Because of that, I have had a splurge this morning and have gone through every FriendsReunited contact I can find and ones whom I presume are relatives, etc. Due to that I have had one reply already and have now spoken to:
Whom didn’t recall me at first (how dare he forget) then sounded shocked when I reminded him who I was and from how far back! Also today I have phoned every Young I can find in the phone book that lives in Stonehaven (which is where I recall him being from) – I await the outcome of 3 answerphone messages, but aside from that nothing.
So again, folks, dredge your memory banks for any little tidbit of info for anybody still on the Not Found list please and let me know it.

I just thought I’d drop a note in to explain where we are … when I say we I of course mean me. Despite vague promises of help in this process I have ended up doing all the ‘legwork’ myself. And now I’m weary.
Anyway.
I have approached the school about the use of their facilities sometime in August 2010. I suggested the bank holiday weekend would likely work best as it would give everyone an extra day off to recover from a weekend away. However it would seem they have a regular booking for that weekend – still I wait to hear from the facilities manager about possibilities.
In terms of those I’ve managed to track down then the number stands at 29 out of 56 which leaves 27 and as it stands at present that number appears too daunting for me. I accept that there are some I will likely never find as I don’t speak Spanish and don’t know the equivalent search tools to use for foreign climes. Still, those numbers are only a few.
But I’m weary now.
I’m especially weary because of the bizarre reaction of a few to my attempts to make contact. At this point I just want to say thanks to all of you I have re-contacted and let you go on your way. I’ll stay in touch with any that want and I’ll certainly be staying in touch with certain folks of my own accord … but I just want to stop now.
But I’m not quite at the end of my rope yet. Not quite. It’d help if I found some more folks, or those I’ve made initial contact with get back to me but I’m not pushing it any more. It’d also help if others could help.
