May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back.  May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields.  And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
    ~ Old Irish Blessing

Well, what can I say but that this is likely going to be my last update on this site – specifically to do with any reunion plans or ideas for the Syntax year of 1979/80.

The truth of the matter is that I’m tired of the hunt now, but I did enjoy it and had fun being an amateur sleuth. However the realism is that this is over now and that I’m unlikely to find any more of our classmates. So no more. However, I will continue to post any updates I get or contacts or news or … well whatever is potentially relevant to ex-pupils of Barlborough and the Mount.

That said I also need to add that due to reasons beyond my control I won’t be able to make the Annual OM Dinner as originally planned. But I do want to encourage those of you that can, to meet up and have at least one last hoorah. I’m deeply disappointed that I can’t make it but let me finishing by saying this:

Anybody who happens to be in South Wales and fancies a pint, a meal or even just a chin wag for old times sake then please do look me up. My phone number and address are not ex-directory and are easily available.

I would love to see any of you from my year or indeed any of you that are from the years near to me that I would remember.

    Welcome one and all.

    Roll up, roll up!

On Sunday 2nd May, Barlborough Hall School will be hosting a Garden Party to celebrate it’s 70th Anniversary. The school will be open to you all to have a look around with boards to write up your school memories and stories about your time spent there.

There will be a hog roast, a bar with I’m sure some lovely Pimms to drink and a summer cricket match for anybody who is really keen!

The school would love to see people from all years, so please come along and tell your old school pals who aren’t members of the group about this very special day.

For more information contact the school.

    Hi all,

It’s with sadness that I discovered today that Dominic passed away last September or October.

I don’t know any details at the moment (and if I find out I will edit this message) but only found out the news from a much younger relation of mine who happened to teach with him at the same school.

The world is a dimmer place because of his passing.

    Go peacefully Dominic.

Look – twice in one day …

I’ve just had it confirmed that the Annual OM Reunion Dinner will be taking place October 23rd 2010 – so contrary to other years it’s the start of the half term week.

I’m making my plans to be there and would love to see as many of you as possible.
